"I'm excited to play" - Gauff exhilarated on representing Team USA at the Olympic Games

Following her deep run at this year's French Open, Coco Gauff clinched the final spot on Team USA and will be representing her country at the Olympic Games in Tokyo this summer.

The 17-year old reached the quarterfinals at Roland Garros, but secured qualification after advancing past the fourth round. After stating that qualifying for the Olympics was a goal of hers last year, the American was pleased after achieving that milestone.

"I'm definitely planning on playing the Olympics," Gauff stated following her quarterfinal loss. "I'm excited to play."

Joining Gauff on Team USA will be 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams, along with World No.5 Sofia Kenin and the in-form Jennifer Brady.

Olympic tennis play kicks off at Ariake Tennis Park on Saturday, July 24 and should any of them progress to the final, the gold medal match will be held on Saturday, July 31.
