With the Noventi Open scheduled to begin on June 14, Roger Federer hit the practice courts in Halle to engage in his first grass-court session of 2021.
The 10-time champion will be competing in just his fourth tournament of the season, and his first on grass since 2019. After being selective in choosing tournaments due to multiple knee operations over the last year, the 39-year old has seems focused on the grass-court season, with Wimbledon his main priority.
Although the Swiss superstar has had unparalleled success at this event, there will be stiff competition this year. Joining him at the Noventi Open are a host of Top 10 stars, including World No.2 Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev.
Below is exclusive video of Federer preparing on the grass-courts of Halle.
