Team Russia ease past Team Argentina into 2020 ATP Cup semi-finals

Daniil Medvedev and Karen Khachanov in particular impressed leading from the front and improving their joint ATP Cup singles records to 4-0 in the tournament.

Medvedev tied the game up with a brilliant 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 win over Diego Schwartzman; to improve his record to 3-0 in their Head 2 Head. The Russian who in 2019 came under criticism for his reaction towards the booing fans at the US Open; was given a point penalty after striking the umpire's chair with his racquet.

Marat Safin, as Russia captain though calmed him down; as the Argentinian fans were right behind their man. From there though this chat seemed to work as Medvedev refocused on the task in hand and broke his serve and he concluded the tie after 2 hours and 22 minutes.

This came after Khachanov himself had given Russia a 1-0 lead in the tie by beating Guido Pella 6-2, 7-6 with the former saving five out of six break points against his opponent.
