De Minaur reached his first US Open quarterfinal following a straight-sets victory against Vasek Pospisil and post-match he broke down what happened.

Vasek Pospisil looked set to win the 1st set in his match against De Minaur but the Australian produced a stellar comeback to win not just the 1st set but also the match. Speaking afterwards he said:
"The first set was crucial, with some things going his way and then my way. I went 2-6 down but didn't think I played a bad tie-break and tried to stay calm. I'm just so happy with the way I played to beat Vasek. He is very tricky and aggressive. I tried to stay calm and kept running!"
After he came back in that tiebreak from being down 6-2 he continued playing well breaking Vasek in each set and giving himself more than enough to secure the match in straight sets which he did. His next opponent will be his toughest yet, as he is set to face Dominic Thiem but he didn't give any comment on that matchup.
