Following her US Open 4th round match against Muchova, Azarenka spoke to the media a recapped a match she called crazy:

"It was a crazy match. She played unbelievably, getting to balls and bringing everything back. I would try coming to the net and bring passing shots where I couldn't do anything! It was such a great match and of such high quality. I really had to dig in and bring more aggression because she was really feeling the ball well."

It was indeed a spectacular match where from a moment it looked like Azarenka's dream run would come to an end but she found a way to fight back in the match and ultimately win it. She admitted as much saying:

"It was really tough, but also so much fun. I hope people had fun watching because I enjoyed playing it tonight."

It was her first grand slam quarterfinal after 2016 and she was really happy for it even during this difficult time for everybody. She said:

"I know it's a difficult time for everybody in the world, and being able to have a Grand Slam tournament and do what I love to do, I'm just grateful for the opportunity to play. I don't take any day for granted and I want to enjoy all that comes my way."

Her next opponent will be Elise Mertens who stunned Sofia Kenin to reach the quarterfinal. About that match Victoria said:

"She's played great. She played very well at Cincinnati, so it's going to be fun. I've played her once or twice in doubles, so it'll be great. It's another amazing opportunity to be in the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam."
