Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic recently sent social media into a frenzy when they coincidentally bumped into each other on a flight to the United States.
Both players are heading to America early to prepare for the ATP 1000 double-header of Indian Wells and the Miami Open. Nadal missed both tournaments last year due to injury, whilst Djokovic is competing in the Sunshine Double for the first time in four years.
Daniil Medvedev was shown the picture during an interview with The National. "Yes, I saw it a little bit," said the World No. 4. "First of all, I was surprised, 'Where are they going so early? Indian Wells?' So that was my first question, 'Why so early?"
Player interaction
With so much travelling around the world, it is inevitable that players will run into each other unexpectedly. "When you see another tennis player like this in a plane, it's a good surprise, especially them who have been rivals for like 20 years.
"So, it's just a fun picture. But, that shows how the tennis tour is."
