Dominic Thiem defeated Grigor Dimitrov in probably the best match at the Adria Tour in Belgrade to reach the final of the tournament.
If Dominic Thiem wanted to play the final at the first
Adria Tour tournament in Belgrade, he needed to defeat
Grigor Dimitrov. Both players showed their great qualities in a match that lasted an hour and 8 minutes.
In the first set, we saw only 1 breakpoint that the Austrian had in the 2nd game. He didn't convert it and so the set reached tie-break. There, Thiem showed a dominant performance when he defeated Dimitrov 7-2 to win the first set.
In the second set, it seemed that world no. 3 will get an easy victory when he led already 2-0 and had a breakpoint in the third game. However, the Bulgarian fought back as the match reached another tie-break. There, Dimitrov had one setpoint which he didn't convert and after Thiem won another 3 points, he won the match 4-3(2), 4-3(6).
Thiem will play Filip Krajinovic in the final later this evening
