Thiem looking forward to Tsitsipas clash at Madrid Open: "I like him a lot, unbelievable player"

Dominic Thiem defeated Kyle Edmund in the first round of the Madrid Open and he's excited about facing Stefanos Tsitsipas in the next round of the event.

The Austrian played a fairly decent match to take down former top-20 player Edmund but he'll need a far higher level if he hopes to take down Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek has had a lot of success here in the past and will certainly present a very tough challenge to Thiem but the Austrian is simply excited about it. He needs matches like these to get where he wants to be:

"Yeah, I am looking forward to that one a lot. I like him a lot, you know. Unbelievable player. I love also to watch his matches, very elegant and we had some great matchups, some big ones as well, ATP Tour Finals finals. The last one on clay actually, if I am not wrong, five years ago, so, very long time. During that time, we both made French Open finals, so I hope I can do well and make an amazing match."
