The 2022
Cordoba Open has some players confirmed to play in it and the pack will be led by
Dominic Thiem and
Diego Schwartzman.
Dominic Thiem is ready to play some tennis in 2022 and after the Australian Open, the Austrian will skip over the indoor circuit in Europe to play tennis in South America. Thiem is determined to play some clay tennis in order to get back on track both fitness-wise and in order to get some points. The Austrian saw his ranking dip over the course of a few months due to not playing with a wrist injury.
Joining him on the clay circuit will be Diego Schwartzman who will also be looking for some valuable points. Playing at home in Argentina is not something Schwartzman gets the chance to do so he will take any opportunity he can take to do so. The Cordoba Open is an ATP 250 event and the duo will be joined by several other notable players.
Benoit Paire will also play at the event as will the 2021 champion Juan Manuel Cerundolo. Whether the youngster brings joy to native Argentinians by ensuring that a native player wins it again remains to be seen but he will fight hard to defend his trophy.
