Serbia’s legendary tennis star Novak Djokovic has revealed that he is hoping to return to full fitness at the French Open. The 36-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in the history of men’s tennis in the singles category in the Open era, having won as many as 24 Grand Slam titles.
Djokovic is having a little different time on the court this season as he is yet to play in the final of an event despite playing in as many as three major events. The Belgrade-born was recently quoted in a report where he admitted that his form has not been up to the mark but expressed optimism that he will be back to his best before the start of the second Grand Slam of the year. "This year has been a bit different for me - the start," he said. "(I’m) still finding the best level of tennis and hopefully that can come in Roland Garros.”
Djokovic’s journey in the Australian Open came to an end as he lost in the semifinal to Italy’s Jannik Sinner with a score of 6-1, 6-2, 6-7, 6-3. He then participated in the Indian Wells where he lost in the round of 32 to Italy’s Luca Nardi with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Djokovic then played in the Monte-Carlo Masters where he suffered a defeat in the semifinal to Norway’s Casper Ruud with a score of 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
