An eventful day of tennis slowly came to an end with victories for Bautista Agut, Rublev and Anderson who all move on to the next round of
Roland Garros.
Robert Bautista Agut continued his Roland Garros run with an easy victory against Attila Balasz. The match which lasted about 108 minutes saw the Spaniard dominate every faced of the match-winning in three sets. The end result was 6-3 6-1 6-2 for the Bautista who played a near-perfect match. His serve worked well throughout the match and he had an impressive 30 to 11 winner-unforced errors ratio.
Joining him in the next round will be Andre Rublev who moved past Davidovich Fokina in 4 sets. Rublev was down early in the first set but he fought back to tie it at 5-5 before closing the set with 7-5. In the next set, he destroyed the Spaniard with 6-1. Davidovich Fokina came back in the 3rd winning it with 6-3. Rublev had a similar thing happen to him against Querrey and he wanted to avoid going to 5 so he came ou furious in the 4th set winning it 6-1.
Another 5-setter was played today but it wasn't nearly as long as the one between Shapovalov and Carballes Baena. IN this one
Kevin Anderson continued his comeback to form with a victory against Lajovic. The Serbian is a good clay player but today he was overmatched by Anderson early on with the South African winning the first two sets with 6-2 6-4. Lajovic fought back in the next two winning them 6-4 6-3.
In the final one, it was Anderson once more who took a lead late in the set and ultimately hung on to win it in 5. A very good run for Anderson here so it will be interesting to see how far can he go.
