Following his spectacular title run at the
Stuttgart Open last week,
Frances Tiafoe achieved another milestone as he saw his ranking rise enough to become the third African-American male tennis player to break into the top 10 in the ATP Rankings.
Tiafoe defeated Jan-Lennard Struff in Sunday's final, securing his third career ATP title. Furthermore, he climbed two spots to reach a new career-high ranking of World No.10.
As a result of the Maryland native's new ranking, he joined a select group of tennis players. Tiafoe became just the third African-American male to be ranked in the top ten, following tennis legend Arthur Ashe and James Blake. Ashe reached a career-high of World No.2, whereas Blake was ranked as high as 4th in the world.
