Tiafoe lauds Federer: “No one’s going to carry themselves like he did”

Frances Tiafoe handed Roger Federer the final loss of his career at this year's Laver Cup but he admires the Swiss ace in many ways.

Many accused Tiafoe of being disrespectful to Federer with the way he played at the Laver Cup and by beating him in his final match but actually, he honoured his legacy quite well. He gave him a proper challenge for the final match in his career, and Federer's competitiveness certainly appreciated it.

He further lauded the Swiss in a recent episode of the ATP Radio podcast saying:

“I mean, the impact he had on the game is wild. I mean, we are always going to remember Roger Federer. 'Cause there will never be another one. No one’s going to play the game like he did. No one’s going to carry themselves like he did. He never sweated, he never had a wrinkle on his shirt. I’m happy I got to play against him. I’m happy I got to call him a friend.”

He further added:

“To play against them, even if one of then weren’t retiring, to play against them together is iconic, and as Fed’s last match... So, that’s even more iconic, and the crowd is going wild."
