Former World No.2
Tommy Haas believes
Roger Federer has the best one-handed backhand on the ATP Tour, with
Grigor Dimitrov coming in a close second.
Haas, who serves as the tournament director at Indian Wells, was asked to name the Greatest Of All Time in specific categories. When it came to choosing who had the best one-handed backhand, the German, who uses a one-handed backhand himself, was clear in his choice.
"I mean, body-wise, you've got to give it to Dimitrov," Haas said in an interview with We Are Tennis. "He's obviously very fit. I think he takes a lot of pride in his fitness.
"Tennis-wise, it's obviously a no-brainer to that question. With what Roger has accomplished, and he makes it look out there. He basically floats into every shot."
Federer, a five-time Indian Wells champion, hasn't played at the event since 2019.
"Hopefully I can have Dimitrov and Roger back here in Indian Wells next year," Haas added.
Federer, who underwent a knee surgery last August, is aiming to make a comeback during the second part of the 2022 season.
