Carlos Alcaraz returns this year after his enforced absence due to injury back in 2024. Casper Ruud is defending champion and returns alongside the fellow finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas.
An ATP 500, it acts as the pre-cursor to Madrid and is often characterised by players jumping in a pool after they win the title. Tsitsipas and Ruud excelled after good Monte-Carlo stints last year and Alcaraz, Davidovich Fokina, Musetti and De Minaur all play here after reaching the semi-finals in the Monagasque region.
