Stefanos Tsitsipas is certain that no player can truly compare to
Rafael Nadal on clay because his stat is absolutely incredible on that surface with nobody even close.
It's not a shocking stance or statement or opinion because he would find that 99.9 % of tennis fans agree with him simply because it's quite undeniable. No player has a better winning percentage on clay and nobody has ever been as good at Roland Garros as Nadal has been. He has a chance to win number 15 this year which means that he won 14 in the past.
No player has ever won as many grand slam trophies at a single event as much as Nadal. That's just part of the story but it's a good enough argument to explain why Tsitsipas thinks this:
"To compare yourself to Nadal here, or anywhere else on clay, you have to come from another planet."
He also added his excitement about being back on clay:
"I'm always excited when the clay season starts up again. Tennis is different on this surface and I missed the clay. The first day you put your foot on it, it's something special. 'amazing every time. The height of the bounce, the feel, etc., I love it."
And more:
"It really feels good to be back on clay, and the fact that it's here, one of my favorite places in the world, is even better. I'm enjoying the fact of having won twice here. I don't think it puts extra pressure on me. I just feel good when I play here."
