An exciting day of tennis happened in Acapulco which saw the number one seed
Stefanos Tsitsipas where he will be joined by
Grigor Dimitrov.
Stefanos Tsitsipas spoke about his comfort level in Mexico where he has several good memories. That comfort level was shown on the court in his match against
Benoit Paire which the Greek won comfortably in straight sets. He took an early break in that match which gave him confidence moving forward. He maintained it eventually winning the set 6-3.
In the 2nd set, he was, even more, dominating quickly rushing out to a 4-0 lead. Paire could not handle his baseline play at all committing more and more errors and coupled with his 9 double faults it quickly ended with 6-1. A strong showing from Tsitsipas who moves on after 70 minutes of play.
Joining him in the next round will be Grigor Dimitrov who moved on after
Adrian Mannarino retired midway through the 2nd set. The Frenchman played a solid match in the first set holding his own at the start. Midway through the set, he lost his serve but he would carve out a few break points at 5-4 and failed to use them.
After clinching the opening set 6-4 Dimitrov completely blew his opponent away in the 2nd until Mannarino retired being down 0-3.
