US Open ATP and WTA Prize Money Explained: How much can Aryna Sabalenka,.Carlos Alcaraz earn for Flushing Meadows glory?

The US Open will offer the biggest prize money in Grand Slam history with a total of $108m (£79.2m) on offer between 30 August - 13 September in the ATP and WTA tour headlined by Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka.
The singles champions will receive $5.5m (£4.03m) each in a 10% increase on 2025. First round losers will take home $140,000 (£102.667) which is $30,000 and 27% more than last year.
This prize money in particular includes a $2m contribution to a welfare fund which leading players have been demanding from all the Grand Slams. The four Grand Slam tournaments have also jointly announced a Grand Slam player council. The main demand also was for each Grand Slam to dedicate 16% of their revenue to prize money with the figure rising to 22% by 2030.
Alcaraz set to play
Carlos Alcaraz will play the tournament after four months out. Jannik Sinner will not be involved who lost to the Spaniard in last year's final and the field will be headed up by Novak Djokovic, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alexander Zverev among others as well as the top Spaniard.

In the women's draw, Aryna Sabalenka defeated Amanda Anisimova in the final, 6–3, 7–6 (7–3) and she will return as will the likes of Iga Swiatek, Linda Noskova, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina. In the second round, they receive $190,000. In the third, $290,000 and so on including $480,000 for the Last 16.
Quarter-Finalists claim $780,000 while semi-finalists are set for $1,450,000. The runner-up claims $2,800,000. As ever the ATP and WTA get the same amounts.

- I’m not quite sure what’s happening with Sabalenka but she is horrible on court when she’s losing (which is a lot lately). If you cannot control your self at all once you start losing matches - especially at 28 - you need to see a therapist or take a break from the sport. Terrible attitude.
