US Open Men's Final bizarrely delayed due to President Donald Trump attending

The US Open Men's Final will not be played on time due to the presence of Donald Trump who is now in situ at the Arthur Ashe Stadium with the roof also closed due to the rain.

One of the narratives this week surrounded Trump's appearance at the final which of course is polarising despite him being the President of the United States depending on what side of the political fence you sit on.

It comes also in a week where hoaxes were posted online about the President amid him not being seen for a few days before he came back to a press conference. But now he is very much alive and is at Flushing Meadows.

But his appearance means that even Sinner and Alcaraz have to wait. They have to wait 30 minutes in fact which allows for the adequate security measures. It is just before 2pm currently in New York meaning it is only just over 40 minutes until the game begins.

It was thought that perhaps Trump was late but in fact he is already in the stadium waiting for play to begin but the roof has also now had to be shut with rain in the area. He did not attend last night's women's final between Anisimova and Sabalenka though.
