"Very shocking to me" - Tsitsipas on Barty retirement

Stefanos Tsitsipas was shocked by the retirement of Ashleigh Barty explaining how he found through social media.

Many tennis players have been reacting to the sudden retirement of Ashleigh Barty. The Australian tennis player has been playing the best tennis of her career recently having won the Australian Open in quite a dominant fashion. Stefanos Tsitsipas was one of the players who reflected on it during his Miami Open press conference saying:

“Ash Barty’s retirement announcement was very shocking to me. I found it through social media after scrolling my feed. I saw that video. I watched the entire video in disbelief because I couldn't believe what I just saw. She's been doing incredibly well. Honestly, she's at the peak of her game right now I think, having won Wimbledon [and the] Aussie Open recently."

He's not the only one yet for those close to Barty it did not come as a surprise. It's her 2nd retirement from the game but this time it looks for good.
