It could be said that Andre Agassi introduced style and fashion to the tennis industry, and now the retired American took some time to reflect on his favorite outfits donned during his career.
In addition changing tennis fashion as we know it, Agassi was also a trailblazer on the court. The 54-year old won eight Grand Slam singles titles in his career, and attained the World No.1 ranking for 101 total weeks.

Agassi changed the sport's fashion game

In a time when most tennis athletes wore white with their shirts tucked in, the Las Vegas native took clothing to a whole new level. Agassi took to social media to post a short clip detailing his top 3 favorite outfits, with his "pirate look" from the 1995 Australian Open coming in at third place. The American donned baggy patterned shorts, a loose white and burgundy-striped shirt, a matching banada, hoop earring, and a goatee.
Coming in second was his outfit at the 1988 US Open, where an 18-year old Agassi wore a pair of acid-wash acid jean shorts made for him by Nike. This was a look that Agassi would repeat multiple times, often with different variations.
However, Agassi's top pick featured him wearing black denim shorts with hot-pink tights, a matching pink-print top and headband, and a pair of Nike Air Tech Challenge 2's. This put him in contention with International Tennis Federation president Philippe Chatrier, also the head of the French tennis federation, at Roland Garros in 1990.
"At the time, [he] was thinking about bringing in a dress code," Agassi recalled. "So I did what any noble person would do and I called him a bozo in the press conference. That was a little bit regrettable, but it was an honest reaction to someone telling me what I had to wear."
