The ball kid was left in awe with the presence of current
world number one Spain’s
Carlos Alcaraz during the
Hopman Cup.
The 20-year-old has recently lifted his maiden Wimbledon
title after beating Serbia’s Novak Djokovic in the final with a score of 1–6,
7–6(8–6), 6–1, 3–6, 6–4.
Alcaraz is currently taking part in the tournament taking
place in Nice, France. A young Ball can be seen absolutely mesmerize seeing the
new tennis star in front of him during the competition in a video posted on social
media.
Wimbledon’s victory was an extremely special one for many reasons
as he became the first player to defeat the Serb tennis star at the Centre
Court in 10 years.
Not only that but he also became the first player since 2017
to beat Djokovic in a Wimbledon match and eventually ended his 34-match winning
streak in the competition.
During that streak, the 36-year-old went on to win four
back-to-back Wimbledon titles, thus making him the joint second-most successful
player in the history of the competition with seven titles to his name, equal
with former world number one America’s Pete Sampras.
