America’s tennis star Ben Shelton won the hearts of tennis fans with his kindness towards the ball kid.
The 21-year-old is currently taking part in the Shanghai
Masters where he is playing in the singles and doubles category.
On Monday, there were some concerns that he might not take
the court for a doubles contest but he eventually did.

During that, his kindness won the hearts of the fans on
social media as he asked the ball kid to come and sit next to him because of
the rain instead of standing behind him because of the protocols.
On the court, however, Shelton ended up on the losing side
along with partner Hubert Hurkacz as they lost to the duo of Rinky Hijikata and
Cameron Norrie with a score of 7-5, 5-7, 10-6.
The world number 20 is still alive in the singles contest
where he has already cemented his place in the last-16 after defeating Russia’s
Roman Safiullin with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
He is now set to face off against Italy’s Jannik Sinner in
the fourth round of competition on Tuesday. This will be the first time when
both players will face off at the highest level.
