Carlos Alcaraz continued his mini trophy drought since winning Wimbledon and lost his temper in the process as Nicolas Jarry picked up a shock win at the Argentina Open Buenos Aires. After being the only top 10 player to enter the majority of the South American clay court swing, the Spaniard was expected to win the titles with ease.
But it didn't work that way as third seed and top 20 star, Jarry claimed one of the biggest wins of his career 7-6(5), 6-3 and Alcaraz lost his temper cutting a frustrated figure. With Jarry closing in on the win in the second set, he threw his racquet to the ground after losing a point at 40-40 cutting a forlorn figure. The racquet bounced to the other side of the court and it was the nail in the coffin.
Jarry sealed the win shortly after on his second match point in a loss that by his own admission hurt. But he will have to move on as he plays the Rio Open next week aiming to put this right.
