ATP recently
shared a video with
Andy Murray and Juncheng Shang where they exchanged Chinese
and Scottish cuisine at Masters 1000 Shanghai Open.
The
18-year-old tennis prodigy is not only one of China's most promising talents
but also a rising star on the global tennis scene. Ranked at World No. 156,
Juncheng Shang is among the top 200 players globally and has already showcased
his potential on the professional tour.
This year,
he made his debut in Grand Slam main draws, secured his first victory at the
Australian Open, and participated in several Masters 1000 events. He has also
claimed victories against notable players like David Goffin and Ben Shelton,
defeating the latter twice.
While Shang
received a wildcard entry into the ATP 1000 Shanghai Open, making him a local
fan favorite, he faced an early exit in the first round against Japanese player
Yosuke Watanuki by 7-6(2), 6-7(6), 6-4.
In a
promotional video, the young Chinese sensation teamed up with former World No.
1 Andy Murray, who also competed in the tournament but suffered an early
first-round loss to Roman Safiulin by 6-3, 6-2.
Despite
Murray's challenging Asian season, the video showcased a cultural exchange,
where they introduced each other to typical dishes from their respective
regions, Scotland and China.
“Scottish

and Jerry Shang… #RolexShanghaiMasters.”
“Alright
Jerry, you ready to try some food?, said Murray to Shang
“Yes, let’s
do it,” started Shang.
Here's the
intriguing video capturing Shang and Murray's reactions to various foods they
had never tasted before:
Following
their respective eliminations, Murray has one tournament left in Asia as he
travels to Japan for the ATP 250 Tokyo Open before returning to Europe to play
in Basel and Paris-Bercy. In Shang's case, he will stay in his home country to
compete in the Shenzhen 2 challenger, where he holds the status of the third
seed.
