Alexander Zverev moved through to the Last 16 of the
Indian Wells Open defeating
Tallon Griekspoor 7-6, 6-3. But the Dutchman had chances to seal the opening set going 5-3 up and when he let this slip, he had a meltdown and lost his mind smashing his racquet in nearly double figures.
During the tie-breaker in the opening set, he raced into a 3-0 lead and then got to 5-2. Zverev saved two set points and eventually clinched the tie-breaker 9-7. It awarded him the first set after just over an hour.
But Griekspoor didn't take losing the tie-break too well as he pummelled his racket smashing it eight times on the ground and when it seemed that he was done, he continued to take out his frustrations again.
While not screaming any expletives, Griekspoor let his frustrations talk with his actions instead of his words as he smashed it to pieces before eventually picking it up and returning to the bench.
