Taylor Fritz took a trip down memory lane in preparation of this year's
Wimbledon, as he recalled his quarterfinal epic against
Rafael Nadal at last year's event.
Despite dropping the first set and dealing with an abdominal injury, Nadal rallied to pull off a 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) victory. The 4 hour 20 minute thriller remains etched in Fritz's mind, and the World No.9 recounted his experience.
"That was my first time walking out to Centre Court and playing Rafa, and I was super excited for it," said Fritz. "I had beaten him earlier in the year and thought I had a good chance."
Nadal would pull out of the tournament before facing Nick Kyrgios in the semifinal, stating he had aggravated his abdominal injury during the match against Fritz.
