(VIDEO) Karen Khachanov simmers with rage during Stefanos Tsitsipas loss, smashes racquet twice and launches ball into the sky

After his friends Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev have gained headlines in recent days and weeks for their frustrations on court, Karen Khachanov joined the club during his defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas on Friday afternoon.

Khachanov defeated Medvedev yesterday 6-3, 7-5 after wins over Francisco Cerundolo and Cameron Norrie. But then fell to Tsitsipas who is a two-time Monte-Carlo Masters champion and has carved out a niche for himself in this tournament. After form woes, he has revived his fortunes this week in Monaco.

Khachanov is usually well known for his exploits in Masters 1000's and it is another good run. But early on, his tempers flared on the road to defeat. He smashed his racquet twice after losing a point including when he sat down between points. As the commentators noted, he was simmering with rage and he also launched a tennis ball into the sky to show his frustration. This was further compounded as he went on to be defeated by the Greek.
