Novak Djokovic was not able to attend the US Open and a group of people staged demonstrations at the event in support of him.
Djokovic has had vocal supporters during his wait for the US Open decision but there was never a proper decision to be made. Djokovic exercised his right not to vaccinate and automatically closed the door of playing as the country requires vaccination to enter.
There was hope that an exemption would be made but it was never realistic due to the prominent pro-vaccine stance of the current government. A group of fans opted to demonstrate today at the US Open in support of Djokovic. Check it out below.
