Holger Rune isn't particularly interested in talks about a new big three with himself Alcaraz and Sinner opting to push himself to become a better player.
Rune produced a really strong effort today to take down Fabio Fognini in two sets. He produced his typical high-energy, passionate effort completely overwhelming Fognini in two sets. It continues a really solid season for him where he's showing a lot of consistency weekly which certainly pushes him to the top of the list of upcoming players.
He's up there with Sinner and Alcaraz and those three have been floated as a new potential big three in tennis which flatters Rune but it's not something he thinks about much. The original big three often talked about how much the success of each other pushed them to get better but Rune is capable of pushing himself:
“It could be fun if this was the next Big 3 of the future. The future will show. I just try to focus on myself. I don’t necessarily need other players to push me. I can push myself.”
