Ben Shelton just hit at 149 MPH serve. 🤯 That's the fastest at the US Open!
America’s young tennis sensation has once again delivered the fastest serve of the US Open 2023.
The 20-year-old is one of the hottest young properties in the circuit and many believe that he is set to become the next big thing from America.
Shelton continued his impressive run in the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year and is moving towards the business end as he defeated fellow American Tommy Paul in the round of 16 tie with a score of 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on Sunday.
During the third set of the match, the 20-year-old produced the fastest serve of the US Open 2023 at 149mph.
He broke his own record of 147mph which he registered in the round of 32 clash two days back.
With that win, Shelton booked his place in the quarterfinal of the mega-event and equalled his best outing at any Grand Slam.
Previously, the Atlanta-born also played in the quarterfinal of the Australian Open earlier this year where he was defeated by Paul with a score of 7-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
Shelton will now face the winner of the match between America’s Frances Tiafoe and Australia’s Rinky Hijikata in the last-eight clash on Tuesday.
