The Polish player turned 22 on May 31, and the tournament organizers gifted her a cake. Former tennis player Amelie Mauresmo presented her with a gift and sang "happy birthday" to her.
Many fans on Twitter recalled the situation that Aryna Sabalenka experienced, receiving a small cake during the Madrid Open, while Carlos Alcaraz received a significantly larger one.
"Hope Sabalenka don't see this video," wrote a fan. "Don't think of giving a French male player a bigger cake," said another fan.
Swiatek successfully advanced past the first round against Spanish player Cristina Bucsa and will face American player Claire Liu in the second round on Thursday, June 1.
