Former US Open Champion Dominic Thiem is set to make his long-awaited comeback at the Indian Wells Masters later this month.
The Austrian number one has not played since injuring his wrist during the opening round of the Mallorca Open Championships back in June 2021. He was set to make his return at the start of 2022 as he aimed to be fit to attend the ATP Cup, the Australian Open and Abu Dhabi Exhibition but ultimately had to withdraw. Further setback happened in South America where he withdrew from a couple of events after another injury.
Despite a rough past 8 months for Dominic Thiem, the 28 year old’s comeback in California seems to be back on track as he took to Instagram to post. He wrote:
”Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion! Hope you are going after all your goals in life as much as me and my team are right now! We are just getting started!”.
The post also included a video of him running through some tennis drills and strength and conditioning exercises. The Indian Wells Masters is set to take place from March 7th to March 20th, where the World number 51, Thiem will be aiming to regain the title he won in 2019.
