"We were practically offered to play dirty tennis there" - Julia Apostoli on Tsitsipas v Kyrgios Wimbledon match

The mother of Stefanos Tsitsipas spoke about the match between Tsitsipas and Kyrgios at the Wimbledon championships earlier this year.

It was a fierce 4-set match that went the way of Kyrgios and the former player touched pon the match explaining how she saw it. Apostoli doesn't travel with Tsitsipas to events but she was in London and she got to see a fairly competitive match.

The competitiveness turned sour when Tsitsipas started to allow the antics of Kyrgios to affect him and she thought he didn't handle it well:

"Could have played better, of course. Our [Wimbledon] match turned out to be very nervous with Nick Kyrgios. That is, we were practically offered to play dirty tennis there, but we don’t know how to play such tennis. Therefore, Styopa lost his temper and left the court without getting there"

She further noted in her talk with Championat that Tsitsipas doesn't get confused like that generally but he did against Kyrgios:

"The only person, perhaps, who brings him into a state of complete confusion is Nick Kyrgios."
