"With Nadal it would be a different story" says Feliciano Lopez on Spain's Davis Cup chances

Feliciano Lopez will be part of the Spanish Davis Cup team for the Finals later this year and the veteran spoke about the team's chances in the event.

The Davis Cup Finals will be staged later this year as the final tennis event of the 2021 season. The Spanish team is amongst the finalist and it boasts a very good team consisting of Pablo Carreno Busta, Roberto Bautista Agut, Carlos Alcaraz, Marcel Granollers, and Feliciano Lopez. The veteran Lopez spoke about their chances admitting that Nadal is missing:

"We have a very complete team, but obviously we will not have Rafa, who last time played singles and doubles. Without him, the chances are much lower. Alcaraz will make his debut and he can beat anyone, Roberto and Pablo are established players and we have options in the doubles."

Even without Nadal, Spain has a very good team as noted by Lopez. All of those players can beat any of the other top players on their own day and with Alcaraz as a wild card Spain has a chance to surprise many. Granollers is a double specialist and his contribution will be felt as well. Lopez agrees as he once again called the team complete:

"It is a complete team but with Rafa it would be different story."
