Isner withdraws from Paris Masters, allowing Nishikori main draw entry

American John Isner has withdrawn from the upcoming Paris Masters tournament, with the ATP Masters 1000 event set to run from November 1-7, 2021.

The former World No.8 finished runner-up in 2016, and made the semifinals in 2011 and 2017. However, the 36 -year old will not be returning to Paris this year. Joining Isner in withdrawing is Chilean Christian Garin, who made the quarterfinals in his 2019 debut at the event.

Due to the withdrawal of Isner and Garin, two spots opened up in the main draw and these will be filled by former World No.4 Kei Nishikori and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. With his ranking currently at World No.48, Nishikori failed to make the main draw of the event and was set to compete in the qualifying rounds. However, Isner's withdrawal ensures the Japanese star a main draw entry to the tournament.
