There has been a lot of talk about trash-talking in tennis with some players (Pegula, Gauff, Tiafoe) saying it would be good for the game but Badosa is unsure about it.
Trash-talking is present in sports including tennis but it's largely been toned down. You will almost never hear it during a match but there is plenty during practices or exhibition matches. It's very prevalent in some other sports with some players suggesting that it should be allowed in tennis as well.
Badosa is unsure how it would work but she's for it:
"I'm in. Yeah, I mean I'm all day talking trash on the court, but no, I mean, it would be totally different. We're not used to that. I mean, traditionally tennis is, it's very, like, polite, but why not?"
She added:
"It's a new generation, it could be a change and it could be different and fun. But I don't know if women could take that. Like maybe they take a little bit more personally, but on men's side, like, I can see it for sure."
Touching upon her win over Fernandez, Badosa said:
"It was very intense as she started unbelievably well. At the beginning I was thinking, is it me or she's playing very, very good. So yeah, she was playing well, she was going for it, lines, serving well and I had to adapt very fast because everything was going very fast."
