Jannik Sinner is through to the second round of the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel easing through his opening test in the form of Philipp Kohlschreiber in just over an hour in what was his first appearance on the clay in 14 months.
Sinner won through 6-3, 6-2 with 85% of points on his first serve and 61% on his second.He has headed to Kitzbuhel early for the clay court season after his marathon tie against Karen Khachanov who completed a brilliant comeback against the Italian prospect at the US Open.
Next up for him in Austria will be either Albert Ramos-Vinolas or Laslo Djere who kick off their first round tie shortly.

Emil Ruusuvuori though who were alongside Sinner, two of the main players to watch today, their progression is over.
Bublik lost out to World No.118, Yannick Hanfmann 5-7, 2-6. While for the Finn, he was beaten by Marc-Andrea Huesler who is World No.303. After claiming the first set 6-3, he succumbed from there 6-4, 7-6(5).
