Aryna Sabalenka has shown again that she is a force to be reckoned with as she took down Polina Kudermetova to seal the Brisbane International title. One that passed her by twelve months ago when she was defeated by Elena Rybakina. Albeit she didn't have it her own way.

The world number 1 has done so by winning a tough final against the Russian Polina Kudermetova, having to come back from a set down. Her rival surprised her in the first set, but from then on she was on a roll and took the title by 4-6/6-3/6-2.

In the first set, Sabalenka started by breaking Kudermetova's serve to take a 2-1 lead. Although she confirmed the break, the Belarusian turned it around by winning 3 games in a row. 3-4. Sabalenka was only going to win one more game, as after 4-4, Kudermetova got another break with 4-5 up to give the first blow to the final.

From the second set on, Aryna Sabalenka began to dominate the match. The comeback was in sight. With two breaks, she evened the match and took the set 6-3. The second break came in the last game, so the world number 1 went to the final game with the advantage to start serving.

Already in the last set, the trend had changed completely. Sabalenka did not want to give any option to Kudermetova. Thus, the Belarusian put 3 consecutive games to the Russian to put a 3-0 that was going to do much damage. After the 4-1, Sabalenka left the final practically sentenced with another break that put her ahead to 5-1.

Despite a miraculous comeback attempt by Kudermetova, who broke her serve to beat Sabalenka, the world number 1 did not want to prolong the title match any longer, and with a break to close the set 6-2 she took the victory.

Now let's see who is able to get a hand on the Belarusian in Australia. In 2024 it does not seem that Coco Gauff, nor Iga Swiatek or anyone else will be able to beat her. We will see in Melbourne in no time;
