Iga Swiatek was pushed to her limit by Linda Noskova but came out the other side as she set up a Quarter-Final clash with Elena Rybakina at the Qatar Open.

Swiatek reeled in Noskova emerging with a 6-7(1), 6-4, 6-4 win in the Last 16 of the Qatar Open. This was Swiatek's 14th consecutive match win in Doha and keeps her four peat chances alive.

She will know too that given she faces off against Rybakina next that one of the main obstacles in her way will be succeeded. She has won 15 out of 16 matches in Doha during her career and with Sabalenka and Gauff also out won't encounter those players.

On Thursday, it will be Rybakina who took down Rebecca Sramkova earlier today 7-6(1), 6-2. Rybakina leads the series 4-3, it will be a rematch of last year's final in Doha which was won by Swiatek 7-6(8), 6-2.

Although Swiatek is in fact a four-time Roland Garros champion and most adept on the surface, Rybakina won both of their matches on clay. Both ironically in warm-up tournaments for that main event in Rome and Stuttgart. Swiatek holds a 3-2 lead on hard courts and interestingly won in their tie six weeks ago 7-6, 6-4 at the United Cup in Sydney.

Noskova defeated Swiatek last year at the Australian Open so her win was no accident in reality. Swiatek though has now won four out of their last five matches.

Noskova led the opening set tie-break with an unreturned serve giving her a 2-1 lead. A few more errors and a big booming serve from Noskova saw her win seven out of the eight points in the session. Swiatek after three breaks of serve in the second set held for a 5-3 lead and eventually served it out.

In the third, Swiatek broke Noskova in the opening game but Noskova broke back to level it at 2-2. Serving at 3-4, Swiatek won six consecutive points and broke to take a 5-4 lead. Noskova finished with 16 aces but it was Swiatek who managed to hold the edge in the key moments.
