Jack Draper is into the semi-finals of the Vienna Open and could now be set to face Alexander Zverev for a spot in the final. Super hard to beat at the moment, the Brit continues to rise.
Draper who is seeded seventh in Austria beat Tomas Machac 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 recovering from losing his first set of the tournament to break twice and breeze through the decider.
Sealing his first ATP title earlier this summer when he won the Stuttgart Open, he will play either Zverev or sixth seed Lorenzo Musetti on Saturday. Draper head to head wise has never faced Zverev but has a 2-0 record against Musetti meaning he is more likely to favour that match-up on paper.
He defeated him in 2022 at the Next Gen ATP Finals before also winning in Sofia last year. Draper broke Machac in the second game before sealing the first set 6-3 only for Machac to go 3-2 up in the second set and snatch the impetus away. But Draper raced into a 5-0 lead in the decider before Machac prevented the bagel. His opponent wrapped up the match with an ace in the next game. The other two Quarter-Finals in Vienna see Alex de Minaur face Jakub Mensik. While Karen Khachanov faces Matteo Berrettini. So one of those four could await Draper in the final if he wins through.
