Elena Rybakina hilariously pranked her elder sister Anna by saying that she forgot to press record on a video of her standing in the rain.
World No. 4 Rybakina is accompanied by her sister at the 2023 WTA Finals in Cancun this week. The Kazakhstani player qualified for the WTA Finals after a successful season that saw her win Indian Wells and the Italian Open, after she reached the final of the Australian Open in January.
The 2022 Wimbledon champion is currently fighting for a place in the semi-finals at the tournament against top seed Aryna Sabalenka. They started their match last night, November 2, but rain delays caused it to be suspended. Play will resume later today, Friday, November 3.

Rybakina fools sister into believing video fail

However, this isn't the only rain-related thing that has happened to Rybakina during her stay in Cancun. In a video posted on social media, the 24-year-old can be seen pranking her sister after Anna got her to film as she stood outside in the rain.
After coming back inside, Rybakina jokingly told her that she had forgotten to press record. Anna, who is herself a tennis player for Russia, believed her sister which led to hilarious scenes.
"But now I have exactly recorded it, are you kidding?," Anna said in Russian while looking soaking wet from the rain.
As her sister continued laughing behind the camera, Anna asked her to show her the video, before exclaiming "Lena, this is not funny!"
Fans have reacted to the clip with amusement, with one describing it as "Lena [Elena Rybakina] in her villain era".
Rybakina has previously praised her elder sister's "positive influence" on her and expressed her happiness at the fact that they can spend so much time together.
"She's very positive. Also, a lot of energy from her. So it's just nice that we can spend time together. And, yeah, I think she's also helping, especially if you have a bad day or something, she's the one always positive. So it's good," she said back in May.
