Carlos Alcaraz Madrid Open 2021

The Madrid Open is the second clay Masters 1000 tournament of the season and will be played between April 26th and May 7th.

In the men's draw, current champion Carlos Alcaraz is the main favorite to retain his title. Other top players on the circuit, including Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev, Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune, and Jannik Sinner, will also be vying for the crown. Notably, three-time champion Novak Djokovic and five-time champion Rafael Nadal will be absent due to injuries.

In the women's draw, Iga Swiatek is the top seed and favorite to win, alongside Australian Open 2023 champion Aryna Sabalenka and last year's Madrid finalist Jessica Pegula. Reigning champion Ons Jabeur recently retired from her semifinal match at the Stuttgart Open after just three games against Iga Swiatek, and it is unclear whether she will be fit enough to defend her crown.

The tournament kicks off on April 26th, and fans worldwide can enjoy the television coverage:
