Australia’s Alex de Minaur and Britain’s Katie Boulter are in for a tricky 2025 season beginning. The two have been dating for a while and are already regarded as one of the power couples in professional tennis.
De Minaur and Boulter are set to have a tricky beginning in the 2025 season as both are expected to play in the United Cup and represent their respective countries. Both Great Britain and Australia are placed in Group F. The teams will play their fixtures in Sydney. It will be interesting to see how the two will be feared in the upcoming mega-event. Great Britain and Australia will be joined by Combined 1 in Group F. Other groups playing their matches in Sydney will be Groups B (Poland, Czechia, Norway) and D (Italy, France, Switzerland).
On the other hand, Groups A (USA, Canada, Combined 2), C (Greece, Kazakhstan, Spain), and E (China, Germany, Brazil) will play their match in Perth. The tournament holds a unique value in tennis as it remains the only team event where both men's and women’s tennis players participate together. Other team events, such as Davis Cup, Laver Cup and Billie Jean King Cup, feature men’s and women’s tennis separately. This will be the third edition of the mega-event. Team Germany will be defending their title. They lifted it last year after Poland in the final with a score of 2-1. In the inaugural edition of the competition in 2023, Team USA came out on top against Italy in the final with a score of 4-0.
A few players who will be the attraction of this year’s event will be women’s world number one Iga Swiatek, America’s Coco Gauff; men’s world number three Germany’s Alexander Zverev, Italy’s Jasmine Paolini; 2024 US Open runner-up America’s Taylor Fritz and 2024 US Open semifinalist Britain’s Jack Draper.
