In a new Daily Dose of Social Media, ATP and WTA stars participated in a funny video trying to recreate the ‘Double Bounce’ Challenge, with the inclusion of Aryna Sabalenka, Holger Rune, Iga Swiatek, and Tommy Paul, among others. On the other hand, once the final at the Madrid Open finished, the champion Sabalenka joined Coco Gauff in a great gesture of sportsmanship, toasting with their bottles of champagne.

Champagne cheers: Sabalenka and Gauff share laughs after Madrid Final

Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff shared a moment of sportsmanship after the Madrid Open final, in which the world No. 1 secured her 3rd Madrid Open title, leaving Gauff empty-handed in her first WTA 1000 final on clay courts. After the awards ceremony, both players received – in addition to their respective trophies – bottles of champagne to celebrate their great week. It was at that moment that, in the middle of the photo session, both players joked on stage, posing with the bottles and toasting while both laughed together for the cameras.
The head-to-head record between both players now stands at 5-5. The American led beforehand after winning in the semifinals of the 2024 WTA Finals and with a victory in their only previous final at the 2023 US Open. However, Sabalenka has balanced the scales by winning three of their last five meetings. Gauff, for her part, advances to world No. 3 and missed the opportunity to surpass Iga Swiatek in the ranking (No. 2), while it was her first WTA 1000 final lost, after titles at the Cincinnati Open (2023) and China Open (2024).

ATP & WTA Stars hilariously fail (and some succeed) at viral 'Bounce Serve'

ATP and WTA stars attempted to recreate a particular serve from tennis freestyler Stefan Bojic, called a ‘bounce serve’, in which he drops the racket while tossing the ball upwards, catching the racket again when it bounces on the ground to then complete the serve. The video shows Tommy Paul, Iga Swiatek, Holger Rune, Ons Jabeur, and Aryna Sabalenka among those who tried to recreate it. The funny video had no clear winners. "I mean even Roger couldn’t do it," commented Daria Kasatkina while trying. However, Grigor Dimitrov, Alex de Minaur, and Emma Navarro achieved the closest versions.
The Madrid Open is beginning to draw to a close after Aryna Sabalenka's victory in the final against Coco Gauff, while this Sunday the men's champion will be decided with the match between Jack Draper (No. 6) and Casper Ruud (No. 15).

“Stan the Man" answers fans, revisits career moments

Stan Wawrinka responded to a fun round of questions and answers during his participation in the Challenger 175 Aix-en-Provence tournament, where he has had one of his best performances on clay courts in recent seasons after reaching the final.
In the entertaining interview, Wawrinka answered the origin of his nickname ‘Stan the Man’, explained his tattoos, and responded to several questions that fans themselves left on social media for the former world No. 3, who revisited some of the best moments of his career and gave details of his renowned one-handed backhand.
The three-time Grand Slam champion defeated rivals such as Alexei Popyrin (first seed) and teenage sensation Nishesh Basavareddy on his way to the final. In the final, he will seek the title against former Cincinnati Open champion Borna Coric, who is looking for his 4th Challenger title of the season (the last one in Zadar on clay court as well).

Wins, sunshine, and blackout: Kostyuk's memorable Madrid Open experience

Marta Kostyuk shared a reflection after her time at the Madrid Open and posted several behind-the-scenes photos from the tournament. The Ukrainian reached the quarterfinals and lost in a tight match against world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka – the eventual champion of the tournament. The 22-year-old reached the quarterfinals of a WTA 1000 event for the third time in her career and is guaranteed to advance several positions in the ranking to world No. 27, ensuring her appearance at the upcoming Roland Garros as a seeded player.
"Madrid, you were something else," she posted. "There were wins, there was sunshine, there was… a national blackout mid-tournament. Some days felt like a movie, others like a glitch in the system."
"But somewhere between matches and late dinners, I found moments I’ll actually remember. Grateful for the tennis, the chaos, and everything in between."

Swiatek thanks Madrid despite semifinal loss

Another player who took the time to thank the support during her run at the Madrid tournament was world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, who was the defending champion but fell in the semifinals to Coco Gauff. The five-time Grand Slam champion suffered her fourth consecutive semifinal loss in 2025 (seven in a row since winning the Roland Garros title in 2024).
Swiatek, in any case, valued having another solid performance in the tournament to reach the final stages. On her way, she had defeated very tough opponents, including Alexandra Eala, Linda Noskova (31st seed), Diana Shnaider (13th seed), and Madison Keys (5th seed).
"Thank you Madrid. Another solid tournament in a row even if I was fighting for a better result. I had also the most amazing time in the city, really enjoyed it as always. Next week, next tournament, another challenges & hopes ahead. See you!" the 2024 Madrid Open champion posted on her Instagram account.

Kyrgios spotted in Sydney with actor Sean Sagar

Nick Kyrgios reappears, this time in a photo with British actor and model Sean Sagar, with whom he shared a picture from Sydney. The Australian tennis player recently suffered another injury, with a right wrist injury confirmed after the Miami Open, a tournament where he had returned to victory (against Mackenzie McDonald in the first round 3-6, 6-3, 6-4) but then ended up losing to Karen Khachanov (6-7, 0-6). The former Wimbledon finalist then had to withdraw from the following tournaments on clay courts.
Kyrgios recently stated on social media that he is preparing to return hopefully in Paris, for Roland Garros. However, Kyrgios is not on the entry list for the tournament and will have to wait to receive a wildcard from the organization, so it is not certain that Kyrgios will be able to return to the court at that tournament. Otherwise, his potential return will be on the grass courts, once the French Open is over.
