After the 2020 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells was canceled due to Coronavirus threat, some players stayed practicing in the US and some headed home to Europe.
Coronavirus already postponed many events in the world. The sport was harmed as well when some football games were canceled, NBA season was canceled as well and also some ice hockey leagues in Europe had to finish earlier. Both ATP and WTA had to take some restrictions as well as
the tournament in Indian Wells was canceled.
After that tournament, players should have traveled to Miami to participate in the next tournament. However, it is still not clear if the Miami Open will be held or not and as there will be no flights between Europe and the US some players needed to make decisions.
It seems that
Stefanos Tsitsipas stayed in Indian Wells and decided to practice with his father Apostolos. The Greek shared a video on his Instagram account saying: "Getting ready for my match tomorrow."
On the other hand, Novak Djokovic seems to be heading home. His fitness coach, Marco Panichi, shared a picture of Novak's team on the airplane. The caption says: "Last flight available to Europe! From tomorrow no more USA to Europe and vice-versa."
