Djokovic comments on postponement of 2020 Olympic Games: "I'm sure it's the right decision"

With most daily activities essentially coming to a standstill due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, numerous organizations have been forced to suspend or outright cancel upcoming events.

The ATP announced it would be suspending the 2020 season till June 7 at the earliest. The French Open organizers surprised the entire tennis community by postponing Roland Garros till September.
Furthermore, the 2020 Olympic games was suspended till 2021. With the event scheduled to be held in Tokyo, the IOC in conjunction with the Prime Minister of Japan chose this course of action in an attempt to safeguard the health of the athletes and everybody involved in the Olympic Games.
World No.1 Novak Djokovic took to Instagram to give his thoughts on the postponement. Perhaps feeling nostalgic, the Serbian shared an image of himself holding a pair of customized sneakers with "Tokyo 2020" emblazoned across them.
"Took this last year in Japan." Djokovic recollected. "I’m sad the @olympics are postponed, but I am sure it‘s the right decision for the collective health of everyone involved. Let’s look forward to Tokyo #Olympics 2021"
