Numerous tennis stars were involved in an interesting
discussion about the salsa dancing skills of fellow countrymen and women.
Several players from the host country before the start
of the Miami Open were involved in a media interaction in which they were asked
about which player from America they would not want to partner in salsa dance.
Interestingly, four players including
Coco Gauff, Be
Shelton,
Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul named
Frances Tiafoe as the players whom
they would not partner with for the dance.
"Probably Frances Tiafoe! He doesn't strike me as
someone who would be a good dancer," said Gauff. "Frances Tiafoe, I
don't think the dancing coordination is there," said Shelton.
"I don't want my partner to be Frances," Fritz stated.
"I wouldn't want to dance with Frances," was the remarks of Paul.
Interestingly when the same question was asked to Tiafoe, he
ended up naming Fritz as the player whom he would not want to partner for salsa
dance. "I wouldn't choose Taylor Fritz," said Tiafoe.
Tiafoe had a horrible outing in the singles category in the
Miami Open where he was knocked out after losing in the round of 64 to America’s
Christopher O'Connell in straight sets with a score of 7-5, 7-6.
