Emma Raducanu has been voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2021 after a whirlwind year which saw the Brit end a 44-year wait for a women's Grand Slam singles champion.
Raducanu's fairytale run to the US Open title came after reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon which saw her emergence to the sporting world.
In the public vote, diver Tom Daley placed second and swimmer Adam Peaty was third.
The 19-year-old now becomes the first female tennis player to be crowned Sports Personality of the Year since Virginia Wade back in 1977 with Andy Murray winning the award for the last time in 2016.
