Martina Navratilova has seemingly called out
Serena Williams for a lack of a stance surrounding the state of trans inclusion in sport, one that the former legend has been vehemently against in recent months with her X profile mainly being a platform for her to show frustration at other sports including trans athletes.
Initially Navratilova tweeted about a Canadian powerlifter who was suspended for two years for calling her opponent a biological male which irked the legendary tennis star. "And people still wonder why the female athletes don’t speak up more??? This won’t stand CPU- you are as wrong as it gets."
She was responded too from there and applauded for speaking out, but was questioned on who else has spoken out alongside her on such issues. Previously Chris Evert, her close friend came out in support of Navratilova's charge, but the same as of yet can't be said for Serena Williams.
"Thank you for speaking out Martina, but where are your contemporaries who have the loudest voices, Chris, Billie Jean, Serena? Where are the female leaders with the loudest voices, Hillary, Michelle O, Nancy P? Why are they all silent on this issue?" Answering the question, Navratilova responded: "Chris is with me on this, Billie is for inclusion and Serena has not said a word one way or another."
